Animus Forgeborn was not born a paladin. He was made one — hammered into shape by a covenant older than any church, sealed with a mask that cannot be removed because it is no longer a mask. The skull-face is his face now. The cloak that billows behind him has been torn by a hundred battles and repaired by none, because he considers every tear a record. He walks toward the enemy at the same pace he always walks. He has never needed to run.
