Rowadeen Psione Wordsmith has never drawn a sword in his life. He doesn’t need to. His instrument — a baroque cello-lute of his own design, carved from the wood of a hanged man’s gallows — has ended more careers, toppled more lords, and broken more hearts than any blade ever could. He plays in candlelight because he prefers an audience that can’t quite see his face. The candles on his base are not for ambience. They are for the names he burns.
